PHOTOGRAPHED BY OUR TEAMCare begins with
understanding.
Persian rugs are among the world's most coveted textiles, each reflecting the tradition of its region, from the intricate florals of Isfahan to the bold geometry of Heriz. Our cleaning approach accounts for the specific knot density, dye type, and wool or silk composition of each Persian piece. We work to lift embedded soil and bring back color while preserving the rug's character.
We discuss the condition, recommended treatment and expected outcome with you. The appropriate method is selected after inspection; not every treatment is suitable for every rug.
Persian Rug Cleaning in the West Village
Some Persian rugs are built to be stiff. A Bidjar is packed so tightly with wool and weft that it hardly bends, and it should never be folded to fit a doorway or an elevator, since folding can crack its foundation; a heavy Heriz is more forgiving but still travels rolled. Tell us the size and type when you book, and we plan to carry it rolled. Elevator buildings hold about a third of West Village homes, and an older cab may be small; walk-ups hold more, and a stiff rug needs room to turn on a landing. We wash a Persian according to its region, and its dyes are checked before any water touches them.
