01UNDERSTANDING YOUR PIECE

Care begins with
understanding.

Wool is prized for its resilience, warmth, and natural soil resistance. However, improper cleaning can strip lanolin, cause shrinkage, or distort the pile. Our wool rug cleaning process respects the fiber's natural properties, using temperature-controlled water and wool-safe solutions to deep clean without damage. The result is a thoroughly cleaned rug with revived texture, restored softness, and vibrant color.

We discuss the condition, recommended treatment and expected outcome with you. The appropriate method is selected after inspection; not every treatment is suitable for every rug.

Wool Rug Cleaning in the East Village and Lower East Side

Wool can hold a lot of water before it feels wet, and it gives it up slowly. If a wool rug is soaked by a spill or a leak, unroll it at once, lift it off the floor so air reaches the back, and call us; wet wool left rolled can mildew within days, and its darker dyes may bleed into the lighter ones. The sooner it is washed and dried under control, the less the colors can move. Two in five homes here have no elevator at all, so please leave the carry of a heavy wet rug to us and tell us the floor when you book. If moths have thinned the pile anywhere, mention that too; moth treatment can follow the wash.
