PHOTOGRAPHED BY OUR TEAMCare begins with
understanding.
Oriental rugs represent centuries of artisan tradition. Our specialists understand the unique construction, dye chemistry, and fiber composition of each origin, from Tabriz and Isfahan to Oushak and Beni Ourain. Every oriental rug we receive is assessed individually and cleaned using methods calibrated to its specific weave, age, and condition. We remove embedded soil, restore vibrancy, and preserve the integrity that makes each piece irreplaceable.
We discuss the condition, recommended treatment and expected outcome with you. The appropriate method is selected after inspection; not every treatment is suitable for every rug.
Oriental Rug Cleaning on the Upper East Side
Oriental rugs often reach us with a history of earlier cleanings and repairs. Before any washing we test the dyes for bleeding and note worn pile and older repairs, so you know what to expect before the work begins. About a third of homes on the Upper East Side are co-ops and two in five are in buildings from before 1940, and a rug that has lain on the same wood floor for years leaves fine grit beneath it; vacuum that spot once the rug is collected, so it comes back to a clean floor. On return the pile is groomed in its natural direction so it lies evenly.
